Interesting Things from the Week - 22 April 2023
Things I'm reading and listening to
Starship Launch
SpaceX launched the Starship yesterday. It’s a game changer. It can carry payloads significantly larger than anything before it at 2% of the cost.
We are a few years away from 30 minute flights from the US to Tokyo or Shanghai.
Check out the first 10 minutes or so of the All-In podcast below, they explain better than I can.
And here’s the video of the actual launch:
My First Million
My First Million podcast, currently my second favorite podcast behind the All-In pod linked above, interviewed Martin Shkreli. Fascinating. He did five years in prison for securities fraud but he is articulate, smart, and super interesting. Really enjoyed this episode.
Dr. GuPTa
In the episode above, Martin announced his newest company, Dr. GuPTa. It’s a medical chatbot that uses ChatGPT to provide medical advice. It’s free to use for your first 10 messages per month or $20 per month for unlimited use. Super interesting.
Will it start replacing doctors soon? According to Martin, there will be no human doctors in 50 years.
What about lawyers?
Eric Pacifici, an M&A Attorney, posted a couple interesting threads about how to use ChatGPT to replace your lawyer:

AI In Your Business
Interesting read about some ways you can use ChatGPT in your business:
Roman Beylin’s The Business Inquirer
One of my Tweets made it into Roman Beylin’s The Business Inquirer this week:

The Spy
This week I re-watched one of my all-time favorite Netflix series, The Spy.
The Spy stars Sacha Baron Cohen (yes, Borat) as an Israeli Mossad agent who goes undercover in Syria and ends up rising to become the Deputy Minister of Defense.
The first time I watched it, I kept waiting for it to get funny since Sacha Baron Cohen typically does comedy movies. But, he is completely serious in this one.
It’s based on a true story and it’s absolutely riveting. The intelligence gathered by Eli Cohen was instrumental in saving untold thousands of Israeli lives and directly responsible for Israel’s success in the Six-Day War.
That’s it for this week. Hope you found something useful here. This is the most exciting time in human history and it’s fun being able to document some of the amazing things happening in the world. Cheers!
